Wanted: Gliding Bloggers!
One of the problems/issues/whatever that classically has taken strain during the SA Nationals is the observations of what's going on. So, comme il faut (as they say), its about time we used the wonderful world of blogging to see if we can't de-strain just a tad?
I experienced an irate farmer when i landed a Nimbus 2 (00)in a bean field just north of Stella on the way back to Vryburg from Mafeking on 26 December 1977. I landed wheel up between two rows of 4 inch high bean plants but when the tail went down after decelerating it squashed 5 plants.
Farmer made an issue of it - me being 19 years old did not help - but after i got him to put the chute on,strapped him into the cockpit, explained the controls and invited him to Vryburg to see the activities whilst i waited for my crew ( Ted and Brad)we became great mates.
As for these Farmers who demanded R1000.00/glider - if they were paid i say quietly report them to the receiver of revenue (revenge) and let him follow up to see if they decare their windfall...hehehehe

Steve, on the new site, I see there is a function to register. Will there be a function to inform us poor citizens that need to work when there are updates available via sms. Such a drag to check every 15 min on the site for updates.
Having some time on my hands ... its that time of year when thoughts of sunny beach holidays in Cape Town get supressed by the dust and wind of Welkom airfield, in the beautiful Free State.
