... and the caravan moves on ..

Well that's it for another year - this must go down as one of THE legendary SA Championships. The [apparent] fuss over handicaps - Task speeds in excess of 160 kph over 320Km - truly international entry list - and of course The JS-1. What a debut! Do the Jonker brothers have a winner here or not? Talk is that 2 of these beuties will be appearing at the next World's. With overseas plaudits from ZASoar on r.a.s one could be guilty of suspecting that the Potch order book at Jonker Sailplanes is looking healthy? Pat Beatty must be looking down on this and smiling. As ever Carol's daily diary kept us in touch, and using Skype, for the first time at a SA Nationals, Peter [Boris] Wyld tersley communicated the state of the scores and other opinions.
But it does not stop - weathersa is talking up 6m/s to 18000' today - another bag of 1000's on the way? It's a hard life!

The show on the road is

...it'l be alright on the night..... looks like a fine turn out, especially when a few of the 'regulars' having partaken of the 'GP' a few weeks ago could not convince their spouses/better halves/ SOs that another 11 days in Bloem was good for the soul! Big Brit invasion this year - the word must be getting around - 25% of the field have hauled their bodies southwards to enjoy the 'big sky' experience. They'll get more out of their trip than the barmy army over there in Oz. Carol is online again - what a wekka! Big Bad Boris is featured on drums vocals and scoring this year. The JS1 is entered - we'll all be keen to see how she runs - Attie is driving with bro Uys tagging along in the Arnold's old ventus. But will Couttsie clean up? I have a spare Kiwi rugby shirt to wear if necessary. Gotta go & save the rice from burning !!!!!!!!!!

Oscar thinks it a good idea!

I was just about to enter a mild rant-mode when I see my old chommie OG post an email to me saying that its a good idea..... thanks Oscar. Which takes me back to thoughts of Oscar and Margharhitas in New Mexico just a few years ago ..... but that is a whole other story ...hey Oscar?

Wanted: Gliding Bloggers!

One of the problems/issues/whatever that classically has taken strain during the SA Nationals is the observations of what's going on. So, comme il faut (as they say), its about time we used the wonderful world of blogging to see if we can't de-strain just a tad?
